Investment decisions are your own responsibility. This material is research and is not a recommendation to buy or sell.

0. Bottom line first

I contributed KRW 6 million to my personal pension for 2024, kept the existing U.S. long-term bond position, and used the newly deposited cash to buy an active fund managed by VIP Asset Management.

I did not make a contribution last year, but this year’s year-end bonus arrived today, so I deposited it immediately. I realized late that the limit had increased to KRW 6 million and added another KRW 2 million purchase.

1. Structure of this purchase

Official fact: In the original post, the 2024 personal pension contribution is KRW 6 million. The existing U.S. long-term bond position was maintained, and the new contribution was used to buy VIP Asset Management’s active fund.

Within the pension account, existing bonds were left in place while new cash was allocated to an active Korean value fund.

I am leaving this as a record with the hope that CEO Choi Joon-chul and the managers take good care of my pension assets.

2. Active funds require homework

I believe an active fund should be bought only after studying the fund and its investment philosophy. I am attaching my earlier note as a reference.
